Blue Sky Signs Dave Oldfield (L) and Soyang Europe’s Mitch Anstey with the new Mimaki printer

Signage and graphics specialist Blue Sky Signs has expanded its application offering after installing a Mimaki UCJV330-160 print & cut UV inkjet printer.

After reviewing several options, the Gloucester-based company chose the Mimaki with its capability of running up to speeds of 55m sq/hr and producing print at a maximum resolution of 1800 dpi.

Having taken delivery of the machine in March, it has already had an impact on production.

The printer was acquired through Soyang Europe, helping Blue Sky take full advantage of the reseller’s services and portfolio of specialist media.

Dave Oldfield, managing director of Blue Sky Signs, said: “As demand for high-quality, fast-turnaround printed applications continued to grow, we wanted to expand our capabilities and improve production efficiency.

“We were particularly looking to bring more work in-house, broaden the range of materials we could print onto, and offer clients more creative options, including layered, textured, and specialist finishes that weren’t as easily achievable with our existing setup.”

The company is now running the new device alongside an existing Mimaki CJV150-160 solvent printer and Mimaki laminator, as well as a BubbleFree Application Table which was previously purchased from Soyang.
