Young People in Print & Packaging (YPIPP) has launched a new campaign designed to introduce school pupils to the print and packaging industry through creativity and local landmarks.
The Love Our Landmarks project invites pupils of all ages to design a postcard featuring a UK landmark that holds personal significance, before writing about their connection to the location on the reverse.
Local print companies will then produce four to six copies of each postcard, giving pupils the opportunity to keep or send their designs. YPIPP will match participating schools with local printing businesses, helping to create connections that can develop into future school visits, work experience and other engagement opportunities.
The campaign aims to highlight the range of creative and career opportunities available within print and packaging, while giving businesses a direct way to engage with young people.
Although not a competition, participating schools will be celebrated on YPIPP’s social media around International Day of Print on 21 October.
Paul Stead, co-founder of YPIPP, said the campaign offered a fun way for young people to engage with the industry and discover potential career pathways.
Schools and print businesses can participate in the campaign free of charge.
