Kala is launching a range of heat-ready laminators. With a heat-assisted top roller the Starter HR can achieve fixed-temperatures of up to 40° C, reducing silvering and producing the optimum finish.
Available in three widths - 108cm (43in), 140cm (55in) or 160cm (63in) - the entry-level laminator is easy to use, with three levels of pressure exerted across the rollers. It can handle simultaneous mounting and laminating of boards up to 2in thick.
Kala also has a new semi-automatic XY cutter - the KalaXY 1650 - capable of cutting a 52in wide, 50m roll of print into A4 sheets in five minutes.
The KalaXY can read an automatic stop mark. Longitudinal trimming is programmed via the LCD control panel and can be run in three modes. The rotating blades cut material up to 1mm thick and 1650mm wide.
