New version of eXpress software RIP launched by EFI

EFI has announced the latest version of its eXpress software RIP designed for high quality photography and proofing applications. This fully-featured new product family, designated v 4.1, is compliant with Windows 7 and Macintosh OS 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard) and is designed for both novice and experienced users.

Although available as separate products, EFI eXpress v4.1 for Proofing offers the same features as its Photo version, but has additional tools for producing high-quality validation and contract proofs. The program also incorporates spot colour simulation plus native PDF (Adobe PDF Print Engine) and Adobe PostScript 3 support.
EFI eXpress for Photo and EFI eXpress for Proofing also have professional ICC colour management features such as the support of up to seven colour channels and device link profiles. Both include 1,600 individually created printer linearisations and ICC profiles which can be easily updated via any web connection. The new products support a continuously updated list of more than 150 industry-standard printers including those from Agfa, Canon, Epson, HP, Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland and Seiko I Infotech.
