Papergraphics is now selling inkjet printable PVC tablecovers. Available in three finishes - linen weave, fine linen and a brushed texture - they can be printed using latex, UV, eco-solvent and solvent ink.

A week after closing the doors on the 2016 show, organisers of Sign and Digital UK say 42% of the same floorspace has been rebooked for 2017 – the event’s 30th anniversary.
Sig and Digital 2017 will be held at the NEC, 28-30 March.

This summer will see a new stretchable ink from Mimaki. The LUS-350 - suitable for various thermoforming applications - is compatible with the Mimaki UJF-7151plus and JFX200-2513 printers. It will be available in CMYK, white and clear.

IT distributor Westcoast has acquired Nottingham-based distributor ArtSystems for an undisclosed sum. ArtSystems, whose product portfolio focuses on large-format and latex print and finishing hardware, software, media and supplies, has in the last two years also made waves in the 3D printing sector.

EFI has seen first quarter revenue of $234.1m, 20% up on 2015 first quarter revenue. CEO Guy Gecht said he expects new platforms due to be introduced at Drupa to “fuel our growth in the coming years."

SignAway in Esher, Surrey, has merged with Danish companies LogoPaint and 5m Print to form new branding and signage company Amayse. The three operations will retain their current sites, people and kit but operate as one entity, with former LogoPaint CEO Kurt Henning taking on that role at the merged company. SignAway managing director Greg Craigen becomes MD of Amayse.

Massivit 3D Printing Technologies will use Drupa 2016 to give the first public demonstration of its Massivit 1800 3D printer - which can produce pieces up to 1.8m high - and to explain to PSPs how it can help them win work.

The Simpson Group is taking part in a number of events in the hope of raising over £3,000 for three charities: Motor Neurone Diseases Association, the Alzheimer’s Society, and The Great North Air Ambulance.

Callprint has confirmed that it secured a three-year contract with construction company Carillion last April. The deal, which has an extension option for a further two-years, sees Callprint providing a tailored solution for all of Carillion’s UK print and repro requirements.
