Case study from Flexa

Etiquette Bleue has chosen the Easy Lite laminator to mount its art. Antoine Plas is a professional photographer, who graduated in 2014 from the art school Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière in France. His laboratory and gallery Etiquette Bleue, aims to offer unique photographic works of art. He services all photography lovers, who appreciate high-quality products, keeping an eye on sustainable materials. In a couple of years, Etiquette Bleue expanded the business worldwide and increased production by almost 30%, producing more than a thousand frame photos yearly.

The laboratory includes state-of-the-art technologies as Antoine explains, “We placed the Flexa Easy Lite laminator in a white room, guaranteeing the absence of dust and static electricity. The main application with the laminator is Diasec products (mounting photographs under Plexiglas with silicone rubber), Photos mounted on Dibond, protecting photos with laminating materials such as anti-scratch or mat cover films. We also encapsulate some prints on self-adhesive vinyl.”

The Easy Lite is a heat-assisted top roller laminator, with an ergonomic and intuitive control panel to regulate temperature, pressure, and speed, ensuring quality results. Easy-to-use features such as simple roll loading, a quick locking system of the shafts, and motorized lifting of the rolls enhance operational efficiency.

Antoines shared his experience with the new purchase: “What did the Easy Lite bring us concretely? The speed of the work increased significantly, and the quality improved. It is a robust machine and requires low maintenance, just some annual greasing is needed. Since the machine came into our workshop, we can deal with large prints: the largest print we mount is 1.5m by 3m. It would have been impossible before because no machine can give pressure consistency to such a surface. In the past, we had many problems with bubbles and silvering - almost 30% of the materials were lost - now, with the new laminator we lose less than 2% of materials thanks to the motorized roller and the control of all the parameters.”

In fact, with the Easy Lite, the operator can easily create the right recipe by adjusting the mechanical pressure to prevent any “smile” effects, setting the correct temperature to avoid the “silvering” effect as well as the right speed.
