New Roland PrintStudio launched

The Roland PrintStudio (RPS) by Caldera has been launched. The Rip and print management software package runs with the latest Mac OS, is armed with APPE 4 and is available in multiple languages. It has a newly designed interface, enhanced colour control, better file preparation and fast Rip speeds according to Roland.

Valery de March, OEM business director at Caldera said: “Users will be able to take advantage of extensive colour management features, create an unlimited number of presets, use automated functionalities and hot-folders and take advantage of advanced tiling and nesting tools.”

Paul Willems, head of business development and product management, EMEA, added: “With RPS there are multiple features to ensure enhanced colour-accuracy, including hundreds of spot colours within the Roland Colour and Metallic System Libraries and support for RAL, HKS and Pantone colour swatches. Users can access our library of media profiles on the Roland Profile Center, and Roland PrintStudio offers the ability for users to create their own ICC profiles, and provides support for low-cost colour spectrophotometers.”

Features for special colour generation (Wh/Gl/Mt) have been introduced to ensure spot-on pixel to pixel registration. Users can also create personalised output templates.

To improve the print-and-cut process RPS tools include contour nesting, plus a new blur and bleed function that removes the risk of white lines at cutting edges. To assist with post-production processes users can add custom grommet marks to artwork and an Application Guide tool automatically assigns a number to each tile while generating a summary PDF to assist installers with large-scale graphics.
