Screen runs Widescreen 2010 Premiere to show off the best in large-format print

Screen has announced Widescreen 2010 Premiere, a free and open event taking part at its headquarters in Milton Keynes on 30 November to 2 December 2010 to demonstrate the powerful capabilities of high-value large-format applications.

With the focus on profiting from innovative value-added special effects, the event will show equipment from EskoArtwork and ancillaries from the world of specialist high-quality graphics such as lenticular and 3D as well as the latest wide-format printers from Screen. From design through to the finished product, visitors will be shown how to cost, manage and produce creative 2D and 3D products and displays using the latest Madico film and Dufaylite materials.

Visitors will see Screen's hybrid Truepress Jet2500UV wide-format digital inkjet printing system in action with its new five and seven layer printing. Alongside there is the Truepress Jet1600UV-F, Screen's wide-format digital inkjet system which is particularly well suited to lenticular printing, and now features a roll printing option.

Available at the Widescreen 2010 Premiere will be the new Kongsberg XP24 cutting table from EskoArtwork, which can cut at an incredible 100m per minute. EskoArtwork will also have a full suite of workflow tools designed to streamline production.

To bring further productivity Time Harvest will show its MIS solution built for digital which allows users to seamlessly share information across multiple platforms such as those found in the display graphics sector. It works equally well by area as well as by sheet.

At the event ContraVision will show how to produce impressive one-way, see-through window advertisements, signs or decorative designs on transparent plastic films and rigid sheets. In a world first, these see-through graphics will be produced on the Truepress Jet2500UV as a roll machine, utilising the new five-layer single pass printing, which is a real breakthrough for this type of production.

DP Lenticular will demonstrate how lenticular posters and displays produced on digital printers make images and messages come to life. Dufaylite will be showing the flexibility of the eco Ultra board range of lightweight paper honeycomb boards to print and fabricate POS, signage, creative 3D displays and a wide range of 3D used for various applications in the print and display market. Finally, Madico Graphic Films will demonstrate the stunning effects that can be achieved with a wide range of one-way, view-control and high-impact window graphic films.

In addition, each day Image Reports technical consultant and industry guru Sophie Matthews-Paul will explain how you can diversify and produce high-quality, value-added products from the Screen’s UV printers. She will also be on hand during the day for one-to-one discussions on specific applications and trends.

VIP places can be secured by registering at www.widescreenexpo.co.uk or tate@screen.co.uk.
