PrintIt! winner 2010 sees the future via Canon prize
As PrintIt! Scotland gears up for its inaugural awards ceremony (which will take place on 12 November 2010), Daniel Smith, PrintIt! 2010 winner from St Ives School in Cornwall was given a unique trip to see the next generation of print and imaging technologies at Canon Expo in Paris. He and his teacher were treated to the all expenses paid trip courtesy of Canon UK.
“Visiting Canon Expo 2010, as part of my PrintIt! prize, was a once in a lifetime experience,” said Smith. “It has given me a real insight in to the print industry of the future, especially the amazing technologies that are being developed. It has shown me how the invention of products like augmented reality glasses, for example, will affect the role of designers which will in turn have a knock-on effect for the print industry. The whole experience has been an eye-opener and I have learnt so much.”
