Agfa shows off lower cost M-Press

A lower-cost M-Press will get its official launch at Fespa Digital next week. The M-Press Leopard has been developed for display producers wanting the M-Press versatility but at a considerably lower investment point. The result is a machine with more manual handling.

The M-Press Leopard incorporates the same inkjet shuttle technology as the M-Press Tiger, enabling users to output at sizes of up to 1.6 x 2.6m. The Agfa Graphics UPH 2 (Universal Print Head) greyscale variable droplet technology has been used for fine colour graduations and vivid solid colours. Instant curing ensures jobs are ready for finishing as soon as they have been printed.

The printer has a simplified feed system with manual loading using Thieme's 55 vacuum zoned universal print table. There are registration pins on both the left and the right side of the bed to make single and double-sided printing easy. Substrates up to 20 kg/m2 can be pushed towards registration pins in the back side of the table. The variable vacuum zones hold the thinnest and materials completely flat so that they can be printed alongside rigid substrates. The machine can work with a broad range of materials in thicknesses of up to 5 cm, and output onto multiple sheets in the same job.
