Epson Digigraphie secures legacy of Moomin artwork

Finland’s Tampere Art Museum, home to Tove Jansson’s original artworks for the wonderful cult children’s animated cartoon series, the Moomins, is to produce limited edition digital prints of the collection using Epson’s Digigraphie fine art print label.
Epson Digigraphie produces exact digital replicas of original artworks. The quality of the printing label means that Tampere Art Museum can lend reproduction works to other galleries with absolute confidence in quality, while keeping the originals in 100 per cent controlled environment. As such, following increasing demand for Moomin artwork from galleries worldwide, Digigraphie offers a solution that removes the risk of damage to the originals in transit, or due to alterations in humidity. Furthermore, producing a limited number of replica sets enables several exhibitions to take place simultaneously around the world.
Elina Bonelius, a spokesperson for Tampere Art Museum said, “We have been stunned by the quality and popularity of Epson Digigraphie fine art label and greatly welcome the opportunity this technology gives us to share Tove Jansson’s original creations with a global audience, while protecting their legacy for future generations.”
The Moomin Exhibition based on Digigraphie fine art label will take place in Japan, at Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art featuring 137 Digigraphie artworks. It will run until 28th August 2011.
