Heidelberg to distribute the Vutek GS series in Canada
German offset press manufacturer Heidelberg is to distribute EFI’s Vutek GS series of superwide format digital printers throughout Canada as litho printers seek to diversify and move into the large-format sector. The move follows an agreement at the start of the year for Heidelberg to sell the Vutek GS series of printers in the US. Heidelberg Canada will also distribute Saphira inks as well as parts, consumables, accessories and upgrades related to these printers, plus it will provide customer and technical support for the Vutek GS series of printers, including installation and training.
"Wide and superwide format printing are of considerable interest to the Canadian print market, and Heidelberg has the right workflow, colour management, service and consumables expertise needed to integrate these technologies into a print production environment," said Ken Freek, vice president product management, Heidelberg Canada. The Vutek GS series of high-end printers can be integrated into a complete Prinect workflow and can be colour managed by Heidelberg's Prinect Color Toolbox which allows a single workflow drives a digital device and an offset press, resulting in colour matched output from both devices.
