Car wrapping pros compete for the title at Viscom
Viscom Düsseldorf will again feature the European competition for the best wrapping pro. Top contenders will come from all parts of Europe to compete for the title of European Wrap Star 2011. The trade fair and the competition will take place from 13 to 15 October.
The main sponsor is 3M Deutschland. The company supplies the films and also takes up the car wrapping theme at its stand. The main prizes will be supplied by Seiko and Mimaki. There is also much common ground with other viscom exhibitors. The theme fits in very well with the trade fair portfolio which features themes like large format printing, production, finishing and adhesive techniques.
From the starting signal on the first day of the fair to the grand finale on Saturday 15 October the competitors will be wrapping for all they’re worth in Hall 8b of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. In four rounds participants will compete against each other. Several Audi A1 vehicles will be wrapped. On Thursday 13 October 2011 the European Wrap Star will start with eight first-round matches of 30 minutes each, the best four contenders will reach the next round. As a particular highlight there will be an attempt at a car wrapping world record for the ‘Guinness Book of Records’, starting at 4pm. In the evening the new edition of the Wrapper’s Night will follow in the Düsseldorf Old Town.
Dirk Möbes (dirk.moebes@digitaldesignware.com) will take registration and tickets will also be sold during the first day of the fair at the event stage of the European Wrap Star (price: 30 Euro). In the morning of 14 October the four second-round matches of 40 minutes each will take place, with the four best contenders again going on to the next round. In the afternoon the third round starts with two matches of 50 minutes each, again the best four participants will reach the semi-finals. The rounds start at 3.10pm and 4.30pm respectively. Saturday 15 October starts at 10.10am and 11.40am. respectively with the two 60-minute semi-finals. 2pm. is the time for the grand 90-minute finale followed immediately by the award presentation.
