Former Kall Kwik chief acquires UK/Ireland licence

The Bardon Group, run by former Kall Kwik chief Nigel Toplis, has via a new subsidiary New KK Limited, acquired the rights to sub-licence the Kall Kwik trademark in the UK and Ireland.

The Bardon Group, which incorporates Recognition Express, ComputerXplorers and The ZipYard, negotiated the Kall Kwik deal with Kwik Copy Corporation in America (holder of the Kall Kwik Licence worldwide) and the administrators of On Demand Communications (ODC) (franchise owner of Kall Kwik) which went into administration in December.

Toplis, who was at the Kall Kwik helm for a decade and moved on to become chief executive of ODC before departing in 2002, said in a statement: “I have always had a very personal attachment to Kall Kwik and have remained close friends with a number of Kall Kwik franchise owners.

“When I was at the company we were very proud of the work we all did in building the Kall Kwik brand and its position as the number one quick printer in the UK. To this end, when I was asked to get involved by Kwik Copy Corporation it was something I could not turn down and I believe the arrangement we have reached with all parties lends itself to a new era for Kall Kwik and will lead to a strengthening of the brand in the marketplace.”
