ODI takes Anapurna M2050 wide-format printer

Digital display graphics company OD Imaging, Dewsbury, has bought an Agfa Anapurna M2050 wide-format printer in response to growing demand for its services.

Established five years ago by signage and display specialist Jason Hall and offset repro expert David Cowgill, ODI has built up a reputation for handling difficult jobs in terms of colour matching.

“We take pride in producing the highest possible quality images and this differentiates us from other POS and display printers. In fact we even set the colour standard for a number of our customers’ display material, which other printers have to match,” said Cowgill.

When it came to investing in a new wide-format printer, Cowgill said he and Hall “looked at a variety of options but it was the results from Agfa’s Anapurna that ticked all the boxes. I especially like the fact that the Anapurna prints six colours plus white. The light cyan and magenta provide a much greater colour gamut and the picture quality is better than any other machine we looked at.”

Hall added: “We have only had the Anapurna a few weeks and can see that there are so many more possibilities so we are still experimenting. The white ink enables us to print on clear as well as dark substrates and it is also useful for backlit applications. Then on rigid material we can image on board 45mm thick. The applications for the machine are endless.”
