Roland brings out 64in SolJet Pro4 XR-640

New from Roland is the 64in wide SolJet Pro4 XR-640 print/cut machine, purpose built for production printing with a maximum print speed of 49.1m2/h.

The Pro4 XR-640 uses Roland’s new Eco-Sol Max2 inks and comes in four configurations: CMYKLcLmWhMt, CMYKLcLmLkWh, CMYKLcLmLkMt and CMYKLcLmLk. The XR-640 fires droplets of seven different sizes for smooth gradations and solid colours.

Fully optimised for the XR-640’s new printhead design, Eco-Sol Max2 ink is said to be highly durable, scratch resistant and virtually odourless – and has no nickel compounds. A new light black and an improved, reformulated white are included in the range. There’s also an improved metallic silver.

Brett Newman, technical director, Roland DG (UK), said: “The new high-density ink including white and metallic allows creatives to open up new profitable applications. The new light black ink and expanded colour gamut delivers the ultimate in print quality and colour reproduction.”
