Cooley delivers sustainable banner alternative

A lightweight, 100% recyclable non-PVC media said to have a 60% lower-carbon footprint than traditional PVC has been brought to market by Cooley’s commercial graphics division. The company worked with Dow Chemical to develop EnviroFlex PE membrane to wrap the 2012 Olympic Stadium in London.

EnviroFlex is a 5m wide, polyethylene-based print media. The lightweight material can be melted down and repurposed.

“Cooley’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility has been part of our DNA and portfolio of solutions for more than 85 years,” said Cooley Group president and CEO, Dan Dwight. “Innovation and sustainability are not principles, but ever-evolving practices at Cooley. EnviroFlex PE is one great example of the innovation that keeps Cooley ahead of the curve while helping to protect the world we serve.”

At the moment, all orders for the material will need to be made direct to Cooley in the US. The company is currently looking for European distributors.
