Fespa extends Hall of Fame voting

Fespa has pushed back the voting deadline for its Hall of Fame until deadline to 29 March and is calling on printers to nominate members of the imaging community who deserve to be recognised and rewarded for their excellence.

Here is what the winners from last year had to say:

Rich Thompson, AdGraphics

"I am very honoured to receive this distinction. For the last two decades, my passion has been to advance our industry. I've never expected a ‘pat on the back’; it is just who I am and what I do. To be recognised by the industry, especially by our peers, is even more rewarding. There were some great people nominated, many of who were very deserving, and I'm proud to be in this esteemed group. The sense of accomplishment is one of my greatest moments ever."

Birol Fedai, Sistem Printing

"Ever since we got started in the printing business we overcame numerous obstacles. I finally felt the happiness of sorting out difficulties and being successful with the help of technology, when I became a finalist."

Keith Ferrell, Cactus Imaging

"I was totally surprised by my nomination to the Fespa Hall of Fame. It was submitted by a valued client who we've worked with for a very long time, so it was a great honour for me that they took the time to put me forward. I think the key to the reputation Cactus Imaging has with clients is our close attention to detail and the longstanding relationships our clients have with us. We're honest and upfront with people, we employ and retain good people who go the extra mile, we deliver jobs on time and with great quality, and we dare to try different things. Clients are happy to pay a slight premium for that value."

"I'm overwhelmed to be in the top five in Fespa's global Hall of Fame. Australia is such a small market, that to be held up as a role model for other print service providers is one hell of an honour."

Simon Pless, Erler and Pless

"It's a great acknowledgement of the work we've done in the ten years since we made the transition from photo lab to wide-format print specialist. Since then, we've made substantial investments to make our production environmentally responsible and that's a focus for the future. We're active networkers in the industry and within the Giga Group, a worldwide affiliation of 18 service providers that share information and best practice. It's fantastic to find myself in the top five of the first Hall of Fame, to have that effort and success recognised by the Fespa community. It's a proud moment for me personally and for the business."
