Agfa Graphics adds Ardeco soft signage printer offering

Amid the myriad new printers being official launched by Agfa at Fespa 2013 is the 3.2m wide Ardeco direct-to-textile dye-sub printer with integrated fixation unit. Designed for volume production of soft signage printed onto polyester-based fabrics, the machine uses Du Pont disperse inks and comes in a 12 (Ardeco 2212) or eight (Ardeco 2208) printhead configuration.

“Digital textile printing is really coming of age and the Ardeco system will satisfy sign-makers and display producers wanting to benefit from the engine's high productivity and our new Asanti workflow solution,” said Willy van Dromme, director of marketing wide format at Agfa Graphics, stressing that the company sees textile print “as a real growth segment where we want to be very active”.

The Ardeco joined other newcomers at Fespa 2013: the 3.1 x 2m UV curable Jeti TitanX, Anapurna M2500 and M2050, and the 3.2m roll-to-roll UV-curable Agfa Anapurna M3200 RTR, a six-colour machine with maximum 1440dpi and capable of 50m2 per hour and supporting dual roll printing. Also being demonstrated was the new Asanti workflow.
