Pixartprinting orders three HP Latex 3000 printers

Italian-based online company Pixartprinting has ordered three HP Latex 3000 printers. The order follows swiftly on the heals of investment in a Durst Rhotex 322 soft signage printer installed just three weeks ago, ahead of the machine’s official launch at Fespa 2013. Together the machines mark a 1.2m  Euro investment in large-format technology by the company so far this year.

Speaking at the show CEO Alessandro Tenderini said the HP latex machines, which will over time substitute the company’s existing six LX600 and one LX850 printer, are “the solution we have been looking for a long time,” adding: “We’ve been working with HP for a year to try an increase the volume of the latex machines, and there’ve been modifications to the machine as we first saw it.”

Pixartprinting is pushing to further industrialise its wide-format production line. The company, which had a turnover of 41.5 Euro last year, expects growth of 35% to around 55m Euro in 2013, with large-format a key growth technology. Currently large-format accounts for around 43% of turnover (small-format digital 30%, offset 20% and labels 7% which is also growing rapidly).

The new HP Latex 3000 ensures a productivity increase of 70%, with a maximum roll width of 320cm, thus guaranteeing a higher overall capacity, also thanks to the dual roll, which will allow the printing of two rolls at the same time. The first of the printers will be installed at Pixartprinting on 1 October, the other two following shortly after. “Depending on how those go we may well take another next summer,” added Tenderini.
