Repropoint, part of the Graphic Dealers Ltd group of privately owned digital print resellers, has transformed its office using Sihl Direct’s PersoMural wallpaper inkjet media. The 6m by 2m wall covering depicts a glorious tropical island scene, which brightens the office and enhances staff mood.
Graphic Dealers Ltd is a buying group comprising several digital printing resellers looking to increase their competitiveness through improved purchasing power and joint marketing. Repropoint is part of this group and is also a Preferred HP Partner. The company has its own HP Latex 26500 printer for demonstration purposes and as Warwick Seymour, general manager of Repropoint explains, they had been looking to decorate the office for some time.
“I received some samples from Sihl Direct for its PersoMural media, so I thought, ‘why not?’ I wet the back of the sample and stuck it to the wall and was genuinely surprised at how easy it was and how well it adhered to the surface. I went to the rest of the office to ask what they wanted on the wall and between us we agreed on the beach scene.”
He continues, “I ordered some media from Sihl Direct and got our guys to print the images and then I have to confess, the printed wallpaper rolls sat on my desk for a week or two! However, when I did get round to it I was surprised at just how easy it was to apply. I did it on my own over two mornings. I didn’t even bother with a pasting table, I just laid it out on the floor and wet it with a sponge and hung each strip in order. Start at the top and down you go. I have to say it looks great and it is now an excellent example to show customers who are looking to add value with their HP Latex.”
Warwick says that there is wallpaper media from other suppliers, but it has proven hard to get hold of. “Getting the media from Sihl Direct was very easy. They hold it in stock in their Manchester office and it is always available for next day delivery. This goes for all their products, which means I can offer a broad range of media to our customers that I know can be delivered quickly and accurately. For example, we have a customer that buys a textured roll up media for his Latex printer from a different manufacturer. We sent them some examples of Sihl Direct’s media, which they really liked and because Sihl Direct can hold the product in stock for us, we can offer a very timely and cost-effective delivery service.”
He concludes, “The big advantage of working with Sihl Direct is the flexibility they offer on a broad range of quality products. They can provide a responsive service to our customer, including sending samples, holding stock and even making up special orders at the factory. They also provide an excellent service in terms of profiling their media. I just need to make a request for a specific profile and if it isn’t already available a freshly made profile will be in my inbox with two days. You can’t ask for better service than that.
