Bodoni has added Barbieri’s SpectroPad to the list of supported spectrophotometers for its own pressSign software with the aim of making colour control fast and easy for large-format printers. Users measure a set of target patches with the SpectroPad, and pressSign will show how to adjust the tonal curve and, if able, the density of the ink.
The combination of Barbieri’s SpectroPad and pressSign software gives users the ability to measure in M1, M0 and M2 and match whatever print standard is required. The combination provides two options for adjusting the tonal curve. Users can choose a TVI target if they want to match an ISO standard like 12647-2 or they can select 4CX technology for accurate grey balance.
In the large-format print market where substrates are significantly different from standards like ISO 12647 the Barbieri SpectroPad gives measurements from which pressSign can produce the tonal adjustments to give users the best possible visual result.??
