Matt Vinyl Graphics buys newly launched Roland VersaExpress RF-640

Hull-based Matt Vinyl Graphics has bought one of the newly launched Roland VersaExpress RF-640 printers from authorised dealer printMax. The family-run business will use the machine to support its existing Roland VP-540.

Luke Nicholson of Matt Vinyl Graphics, said: “Our biggest problem at the moment is that we have too much work for our VP-540 - not a bad problem but an issue all the same. The RF-640 will allow us to complete more work at a faster rate and also allow us more flexibility in terms of product offering with the added width.”

The VersaExpress RF-640 is a 64in-wide production printer that prints at speeds up to 48.5m2/hr and costs £9,999 including a take-up system.

Making its technology debut as a new feature on the RF-640, is the Roland Printer Assist iPad app that allows the remote management of printer functions. A new Roland Ink Switching System further supports unattended continuous printing in that it allows users to load a backup cartridge that automatically discharges ink to the printer when the primary cartridge is empty.

The VersaExpress RF-640 has media loading levers positioned in both the front and back, and media brackets for supporting heavy media rolls as they are loaded into place.

A mirrored CMYKKYMC printhead fires seven different droplet sizes for good quality results on a wide range of media at speeds up to 48.5m2/hr. Roland Intelligent Pass Control further enhances image quality by minimising bleeding and ensuring precise media feeding between passes. The printer has been designed to run with Roland’s high density Greenguard Gold certified low-VOC Eco-Sol Max2 inks. VersaWorks Rip software is included in the price of the printer.
