Fespa is partnering with non-profit 3D industry initiative 3DION, to bring the 2D printing and 3D printing industry together at Fespa 2015 where it says visitors will be able to explore the business opportunities of adding 3D to an established print service offering.
The 3D Print Showcase (Hall 8, Stand A72) will feature a number of 3DION members, including Stratasys, 3D Systems, Makerbot, and Roland.
Sheldon Nazaré of 3DION said: “The interest in 3D printing we’ve seen in the print community over the past year has been incredible, particularly for the automotive, architecture, medicine and prototyping sectors.”
“Any print service provider concerned with the future of their business should therefore ensure that they’re up to date with 3D printing and what it potentially offers – especially when it comes to prototyping,” added 3DION´s Thomas Meurers.
Fespa has also detailed a programme of 'lunch and learn' sessions for its industrial print showcase at Fespa 2015.
The daily lunch and learn sessions, running Monday-Thursday, 1-2pm, are as follows:
Monday 18 May - ESMA
ESMA CEO Peter Buttiens and supporting ESMA members will explore the latest trends and applications in industrial printing.
Tuesday 19 May - Industrial Inkjet Printing with Agfa
Marc Graindourze, business development manager of industrial inkjet inks at Agfa Graphics will discuss the possibilities of industrial inkjet printing.
Wednesday 20 May - Thermoforming Applications with EFI
EFI's director of business development, Mike Plier, will discuss opportunities available with industrial print, drawing on examples.
Thursday 21 May - Green Roundtable
Visitors are invited to join HP, CMA Imaging and cosmetic brand Clarins for a roundtable to explore what manufacturers are doing to be green. The roundtable will be chaired by Michael Sturges, consultant at Innventia Edge.
The sessions which will take place in the Education Hub (Hall 8, Stand B90), are free-of-charge and include a complimentary lunch. Email events@fespa.com in advance of the show to confirm your place.
