Mimaki has concluded a basic agreement to purchase the stocks of Italian textile specialist La Meccanica Costruzione Tessili. The deal is expected to be concluded before the end of March. Mimaki said the aim is to expand the market share in the European textile and apparel markets.
Talks with La Meccanica originated July last year, when an Italian sales agent introduced Mimaki to Bergamo-based La Meccanica, a manufacturer of digital textile printing devices.
“We are aiming to acquire the manufacturing know how of digital print devices and brand power to give a boost to our existing products, andimprove our competitiveness in the textile inkjet printer industry in Europe and the world,” said Mimaki Engineering president Hisayuki Kobayashi.
Mimaki will be exhibiting its current textile range at Heimtextil next week, and will this month also exhibit at PSI Düsseldorf and at Salon C!Print.
