As a part of its commitment to the Carbon Capture scheme, Kall Kwik in Oxford has taken part in a tree planting day in Heartwood Forest, Hertfordshire. More than 3,000 trees were planted at a site which is set to become the UK’s biggest continuous new native woodland.

Two new Canon imagePrograf printers will be available to order next month. The iPF670 is a 24in wide machine and the iPF770 a 36in wide one, the latter also available as an MFP, with an optional large format scanner and 22in touchscreen display attachment. Canon said both models can print an A1 equivalent image in 28 seconds in the fastest print mode.

InPrint 2016 will take place in Milan in 2016. FM Brooks, the organiser of industrial print show has confirmed the show dates of 9 - 11 November 2016, at MiCo, located close to Milan city centre, Italy.

Signs Express (Portsmouth) has new owners. Ray Allenby and Jane Wiles have taken over the 13-year-old franchise in Cosham, where they are updating equipment and recruiting staff.

Wiles previously worked for the Hull centre for ten years in an office manager role. Allenby, her partner, previously worked in South Africa.

A new Chinese-made hybrid printer has been brought to the UK market by Repro Sales and Repairs in Rayleigh, Essex. The R180 is from Mei Tu, for which the company has the exclusive UK dealership. The first R180 will arrive in the UK this week, having been sold to a company that viewed it in China. Another will be with Repro Sales and Repairs in time for demonstration at Sign and Digital UK.

Welsh printer Screentec has bought an 8 x 4ft DYSS X7-1325C digital cutter and associated Kasemake software to service its two Canon Océ Arizona flatbed printers. The new cutter, supplied by AG/CAD along with the new software, will enable Screentec to bring the cutting of various media in-house as it expands its wide-format focus.

Soyang Europe has added more options to its printable media offering. The exclusive UK distributor for Endutex, is now selling German Aurich Textilien products, including knitted and woven dye sub fabrics, backlit, decorative display, mesh and flag. These will sit alongside the Endutex front and backlit graphics, mesh, seamless wallcoverings, flags and canvases, including PVC and acrylic coated polyester products, typically printable with UV ink.

The British Sign Awards 2015, organised by the British Sign and Graphics Association (BSGA), will be presented at a gala event at the East Midlands Conference Centre, located at Nottingham University, on Tuesday 13 October, 2015.

Version 9 ColorGate Rip is now available, and equipped with the Adobe PDF Print Engine 3.5 for processing PDF and Postscript files. New optional modules include Access Control Module (ACM) for better workflow security and Multichannel PSD Module (MPSDM) for colour management. There are also other new functions and improvements.

Fujifilm will showcase the ‘power of inkjet’ for label and packaging applications at Packaging Innovations 2015 in Birmingham next month. It will show how the large-format Acuity LED 1600 can produce packaging samples, how its inkjet solutions are suited to corrugated applications, and how, in partnership with FFEI, the Graphium hybrid digital label press can meet the needs of label converters.

Callprint has recruited Andy Phillips as regional account director for its Jupiter Visual Communications operation. The move follows the group’s appointment of a new retail and commercial team for Jupiter earlier this year in line with its decision to grow Jupiter as a standalone business.
