London-based Perfect Colours is now selling NatureWoven, a biodegradable and compostable media made from predominantly sustainable plant fibres such as natural latex and cotton from the rubber tree. It can be used for numerous applications billboard and large-scale graphic displays.

Bordeaux Digital Printink now has a latex water-based resin ink designed for Piezo drop-on-demand printheads. The company is offering this prototype ink for adaptation on solvent based printers.

Xaar has partnered with Digiprint Supplies to provide sales and support for Xaar industrial inkjet printheads. The partnership gives wide-format printer users easy access to Xaar 126, 128, 500, 760, Proton and Electron printheads in regions where there is no direct machine manufacturer support. For those who need additional support, Digiprint’s team is backed up by Xaar engineers to provide technical advice and service.

Technical support provider Tech8 is to merge with Colorific, a supplier of alternative inks.   The merger, due to be finalised on 1 June, will strengthen the strategic alliance announced between the two businesses last year.

The inaugural Digital Print UK show from Sign and Digital UK organizer Faversham House has been moved back from this September to the autumn of next year.

Moscow-based Glav Print has bought the world’s first Uvistar Pro8 being launched by Fujifilm at Drupa. The company, which specialises in indoor printing predominantly for the cosmetics, has ordered a 3m version and has already expressed interest in a 5m version sometime in the future.

SwissQprint is using Drupa to introduce its third inkjet system, the Nyala, which has a 3.2 x 1.6m flatbed and a roll-to-roll option for materials up to 3.2m wide. The printer, which has a list price of 200,000 Euro, will be sold in the UK via Spandex, which already sells the Swiss company’s Impala large-format machine. First shipments of the Nyala are expected at the end of August, the Drupa stand machine having already been sold to German company Stiefel Digitalprint.
