Call for tax breaks for private lenders to boost competition in SME borrowing markets

The Forum of Private Business is repeating its call for the Government to hand private lenders tax breaks in this week’s autumn statement in order to stimulate competition with leading banks and bring down borrowing costs. It is one of several tax proposals to help small firms and get the economy started in the Forum of Private Business’s submission to the autumn statement and growth review, which take place tomorrow, 29 November. Other measures include freezing fuel duty and business rates rises scheduled for early 2012.

Christinger earns litho comparibility certification on HP Scitex TJ8350 

Christinger Partner in Switzerland is the first and currently the only print service provider to achieve the PSO / ISO 12647-2 certification on an HP Scitex TJ8350 industrial press. The certification process lasts for two years and indicates that results on the certified device are comparable to offset lithography and repeatable.

Mimaki TS34-1800A due out early 2012

Mimaki is set to launch the TS34-1800A, a 1.8m wide, production dye sublimation printer capable of speeds up to 32m2/hr at 540x720dpi and 17.7m2/hr in six-colour mode at the same resolution. It will be available from early 2012 through UK distributor Hybrid’s authorised reseller network.

China’s print-on-demand market will have an 18.8% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) on the overall retail value of print between 2010 through 2015 according to research by InfoTrends which has just released a multi-client study entitled ‘2011 China POD Market’.

Istanbul sees machine introductions from Eurotechprinters

Sign Istanbul 2011 at the beginning of December will see the launch of two large-format Eurotechprinters. The 5m wide Eurotech Turbo uses Oxy-Eco solvent inks and is said to have offer 400m2/h billboard printing (300m2/h in PhotoBillboard printing mode). The second printer is the 3.2m wide Eurotech Lazerus which also uses uses Oxy-Eco solvent inks.
