Agfa Graphics will launch two new printers at Sign and Digital. This will be the first showing of the Anapurna M1600 UV printer and the Jeti 1224 HDC FTR (high definition colour / flat-to-roll) high-productivity UV inkjet printer will make its European debut.

Small business group refutes claim that scrapping VAT tax relief would ‘hit small firms hardest’

The Forum of Private Business is refuting a claim that closing the controversial Low Value Consignment Relief (LVCR) VAT loophole would hit small firms hardest. It believes that removing the tax avoidance scheme, which benefits many large companies by allowing them to move off-shore in order to pay no VAT on goods valued at up to £18, is long overdue and could stimulate a resurgence of small high street traders.

Extrema Publicidad keeps a step ahead with Inca Eagle H printer

Using its Inca Eagle H, Extrema printed the designs onto the leather which was used to make the children's shoes.

Ultra Board gets facelift

BPIF issues retirement rules warning

The BPIF is advising print bosses to audit their workforce and decide what action to take following publication of new draft regulations concerning the Repeal of the Default Retirement Age. The main purpose of the new regulations (published on 17 February) is to remove the employer's right to retire employees. No retirement will be lawful after 4 April 2012, unless it can be justified. It is as yet unclear how stiff the test of justification will be.
