Binick Imaging, a Florida-based print service provider, used an HP Latex 700W and HP Latex R2000 to print and install graphics on over one hundred glass doors, across four floors of the Joe Dimaggio hospital in Miami, in just two days.
The Joe Dimaggio hospital, one of the nation’s leading pediatric hospitals, was looking to refresh and outfit part of its facilities with new windows, doors and graphics. The initial brief was for a few rooms, but with Binick Imaging quickly demonstrating the print quality and sustainability benefits of HP Latex the proposal was extended.
Key to this decision was HP’s water-based Latex inks. Odorless, with minimal chemical emissions, HP Latex inks are UL Ecologo-certified and meet UL Greenguard Gold criteria, allowing for unrestricted full room décor, even in sensitive environments.
Binick installed four floors of brightly colored graphics using its HP Latex 700W and HP Latex R2000, both equipped with white ink. Given HP Latex inks dry instantly without sacrificing print quality, hundreds of high-quality prints were delivered in only two days.
New Verticals
Binick Imaging has a longstanding history of partnership with HP, having invested in its first HP Latex 360 almost a decade ago. In the years since, the company has completed the installation of an HP Latex 365, HP Latex R2000+, HP Latex 800W, two HP Latex 3600s, and an HP Stitch S1000.

Increased productivity
HP Latex technology’s near instant drying time has also improved Binick’s workflows dramatically. The installation of the HP Latex 365 enabled Binick Imaging to offer same day printing. This, combined with 100% automation from a 10x10 fb cutter with conveyor belt, has led to a 200% increase in time from print to cut - a huge improvement in productivity.

Sustainability-first
Sustainability has become a major priority for Binick Imaging. A pressman for many years, Castillo began questioning the health implications that inhaling solvent-based inks may have. Upon researching this issue, Castillo was made aware of the harmful chemicals he had been breathing on a daily basis and made a promise to his team and customers that he would offer a safe and healthy workplace.
Elaborating on Binick’s more eco-conscious outlook, Castillo asserted: “One of the main reasons we opted for HP was due to the HP Latex water-based inks which have been awarded a number of sustainability certifications, including the Green Guard Gold Certification, for reduced environmental impact. It’s safer to work with, and gives us the confidence to say yes to more jobs from customers thar are increasingly aware of the need to demonstrate their own sustainability credentials.”
The next step in Binick’s sustainability journey is to transition to all non-PVC printable materials by the end of 2023.
