Xaar introduces Ultra High Viscosity ink jetting capability

Xaar is using InPrint Munich 2019 this week (12 - 14 November) to show its new Ultra High Viscosity jetting capability, which it expects to open up new inkjet capabilities and applications for OEMs and manufacturers using its technology.
Many printheads can jet materials with viscosities of up to 10-25 centipoise. With Xaar’s TF Technology and High Laydown Technology, fluids with viscosities up to 100 centipoise can now be jetted. The announcement of Xaar’s Ultra High Viscosity capability follows October’s appointment of Dr John Mills as CEO at Xaar. The launch at InPrint is the first part of Xaar’s strategy to focus the printhead business on its Bulk platform, including its Xaar 2001+ printhead and High Laydown Technology. “Xaar has almost 30 years’ experience in inkjet, a significant IP portfolio and a strong technology roadmap. The announcement of our Ultra High Viscosity capability across our printhead platform is an exciting moment for the business and clearly demonstrates the continued relevance of our technology in leading inkjet printing across the latest market applications,” said Mills. As part of the recent business changes, Graham Tweedale has taken on the role of general manager of Xaar’s printhead business unit, reporting to Mills. Tweedale has over 20 years’ experience across the Xaar business including most recently as COO and director of engineering.
