Agfa Anapurna backbone of Solopress wide-format growth

Online PSP Solopress has increased its wide-format staffing from 10 to 15 to meet increased demand for new products during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The company, which added wide-format digital inkjet print to its arsenal ten years ago, says recent product growth - in the likes of wall mounts for hand sanitiser units, wall stickers and floor vinyls - has significantly increased the division’s share of total turnover. Twelve months ago the company installed two Agfa Anapurna H2500i LED machines, which Jack Clifford, head of operations, said “has definitely been one of our best investment decisions. We run the machines 24/6 under normal circumstances and they have produced great quality print with only three, quickly resolved, service interventions in the past year. Crucially, with the onset of Covid-19 they have also enabled us to produce products that have delivered around 40% of our revenue during the past few months.” Solopress bought the hybrid Anapurnas in summer 2019. The switch from dedicated roll-to-roll machines allowed it to start product exploration, and the wide-format division now delivers around 20% of the company’s overall business.
