EFI uses Graph Expo to show off new wares

Graph Expo in the US has seen EFI introduce and upgrade a number of products including the Fiery XF proServer for its Vutek superwide-format UV inkjet printers, PrintSmith Vision MIS, and Digital StoreFront web-to-print platform.

The Fiery XF proServer is designed for optimal performance of the Fiery XF software to provide unparalleled Rip speed and printer throughput to increase productivity, performance and efficiency on every job. It is a scalable system that improves printing, production and colour capabilities with its expanded set of Fiery XF options, high-performance hardware platform, and integration with other EFI products such as the Pace management system and Digital StoreFront web-to-print platform.

Debuting at the show was PrintSmith Vision, a new evolution of EFI PrintSmith. The new system provides a browser-based management solution designed for print-for-pay, on-demand and small commercial operations with virtually any combination of production processes. It has been built to collect, organise and present information in a format that allows small businesses - with a limited number of personnel, many wearing multiple hats - to thrive in today's business environment.

PrintSmith Vision includes estimating, quoting, order tracking, scheduling, production forms, data collection, inventory, costing, and invoicing tools. The system utilises a familiar browser-based interface so it can be easily accessed from anywhere, and makes daily processes easy to learn and use.

Being previewed was a new version of EFI Digital StoreFront, highlighting an enhanced user interface and powerful online preview capability.

One of the most important elements of the online print buying process is the ability of the print buyer to visualise the job that is being ordered. Digital StoreFront has addressed this with a powerful new user interface and online preview capability in version 5.2. A new preview feature ensures the accuracy of the final job. The buyer describes what is required and the system confirms their description with a production-accurate preview. The buyer can review, make notes, and accept the proof online, 24/7.
