Widestar 2000 launched by Own-X
A roll-fed wide-format inkjet printer powered by Memjetās Waterfall printhead technology has been launched by Hungarian company Own-X. The Widestar 2000, which has an integrated cutter, uses five printheads with over 70,000 nozzles each to deliver water-based inks (CMYKK), prints on a broad range of media and sheet sizes from A4 up to 42in (1067mm) x 100ft (30m). Output is said to reach 30.5cm (12in) per second at 1,600 x 800dpi with variable data/personalisation at full speed.
Dr. Jules Farkas, chairman of Own-X, said: "Memjet technologies and components are changing the way people print by bringing affordable, fast colour where it was never before thought possible."
