Ilford demonstrates wide-format innovations at SGIA

The SGIA in Las Vegas has seen Ilford reveal two new product offerings for the sign and display market within its Ominjet range.

Omnijet Trans is an inkjet alternative to traditional backlit silver halide products and has been developed for use with wide-format aqueous printers. The product is said to leave a smaller environmental footprint by eliminating wet chemical processing.  It will be available early 2013.

With Omnijet NanoSolvent Ilford has leveraged its expertise in coating technologies to create a new layer within the media for increased productivity with solvent and eco-solvent printing. The NanoSolvent layer meets the highest demands for image quality and offers a very fast printing and drying speed, enabling print service providers to laminate quickly and avoid ink transfer when the material is rolled up.

The new NanoSolvent layer will be coated onto a variety of PVC-free substrates including clear and translucent film and pop-up display, self-adhesive and banner printing materials. NanoSolvent products will be rolled out during the first half of 2013.
