Watford firm rocketing to success

Watford-based digital production company Rocket is expanding its 30 strong team by eight this year thanks to a number of high profile client wins, and has bought a Vutek QS3200 UV to enable it to produce very high quality wall wraps and drive the business forward.

Four new staff have already joined the firm and another four installer roles have been earmarked for later on in the year.

Those new to the team include Gary Egan, production manager; Andy Webb who will project manage a number of events on behalf of national and international clients; Stephen Silverton who will head up the company’s new retail division.

Already this year the team have been involved in a number of major events including stadium branding at Wembley to promote the 2013 Champions League, producing 17 stands at the World Congress in Barcelona and creating branding to promote multi-event hospitality for HSBC.

Antony Rider from Rocket said: “It has been a great start to the year for Rocket; we are busier than ever and expanding rapidly within the digital production sector. We are now at a place where the business needs to go to the next level. So we felt the need to grow the team in order to bring the business in line with a number of ambitious objectives and targets.

“Some of these objectives included diversifying the company into complimentary markets and to continue to develop strong strategic relationships with both our clients and our suppliers.”

Rocket has seen its turnover increase from £2.8m in 2011 to £3.3m in 2012. The forecast for 2013 is just over £4m.

Re-investing money back into the recruitment of good quality industry experienced people and the upgrade of printers have all helped the business to grow. However one thing remains the same, Rocket’s base in Watford, Hertfordshire, which is seen by staff and clients as being the base for creative enterprise.

“Our base in Watford is second to none and allows us optimum access to both our clients and site venues, which is of vital importance,” said Tim Porter, Rocket MD. “We couldn’t ask for a better location as we are in the heart of one of the biggest creative enterprise locations within the UK.

“Our plans for the future will also see us take on much larger projects, and the space we have here in Watford will allow us to transform an already bustling business into a streamlined and cohesive working environment for our staff and a welcoming destination for our clients to visit.”
