MTEX Technologies opens UK office with Stewart Bell at the helm

Based in Leicestershire and headed up by managing director Stewart Bell, MTEX Technologies has been formed to focus on the sales, support and servicing of all MTEX direct-to-textile products across the UK and Ireland.

“The sales of MTEX digital direct to textile printers have seen unprecedented numbers since Fespa London. We successfully distributed the products through my company Digital Print Innovations, investing many months in research and development to navigate our way through the world of textiles and digital textile solutions to help our customers,” explained Bell.

“However, we felt that the MTEX brand should have a bigger presence in the UK, so we set up MTEX Technologies to help drive sales and focus on supporting customers at a local level with UK based sales, spares, training and technical business support staff.”

The technical business support division will be headed up by Rick Kwiecien and includes a number of technicians including MTEX specialist James Brunton. It will offer both technical and business support for those with MTEX products and those interested in moving into the digital textile market.

MTEX Technologies’ new UK training and demonstration centre will be centrally based in Leicestershire and is due to open in the early summer. The centre will offer open days and training sessions for MTEX users and those wanting to find out more about digital direct to textile printing options.

With the formation of MTEX Technologies Ltd, Bell welcomes new director Simeon Wicks to the fold of his existing print solutions company Digital Print Innovations (DPI).  Wicks will take an active role at the company, leaving Bell free to concentrate on MTEX.

Paul Tomlinson has also been appointed to head up sales. He will be supported at the company’s Derby-based headquarters by existing general manager Sandra Wiggins and newly appointed business support assistant Tracey Whiting.

Bell said: “I’m very excited about our increased focus for MTEX in the UK, and though obviously I can’t split myself in two, I’m delighted Simeon has chosen to be involved with DPI. With the addition of Paul and Tracey, the team at DPI is second to none and our customers are in great hands. The new structure allows me to remain in the DPI team but concentrate more on MTEX Technologies Ltd and driving new opportunities for growth in the digital textile printing sector – it’s very much a huge industry success story for 2014 and an early indicator of the shape of great things to come.”

The first opportunity to meet the newly established MTEX Technologies team will be at this year’s Sign and Digital UK on stand number D36, where it will showcase the MTEX 1800 and 5032.
