Epson buys Italian For.Tex to accelerate growth in textile sector

Epson Italia has now fully acquired For.Tex, having bought an initial 50% stake in the Italian-based textile print supplies business in 2012.

For.Tex - which specialises in sales of textile printing inks and in the manufacture and sale of essential treatment agents used in textile printing processes – has worked with Epson since 2003 as part of the latter’s joint development of the Monna Lisa digital textile printer with F.lli Robustelli.

Epson expects the digital textile printing market to grow at an annual rate of about 25% going forward and the acquisition of For.Tex immediately gives it know-how across the textile printing process, from strategy and design through manufacturing and sales, know-how Epson hopes will accelerate the growth of its textile printing business.
