Rocket adds to textile print arsenal

Watford-based exhibition and event project management specialist Rocket has bought an MTEX 5032 3.2mdirect-to-textile printer. It complements the company’s existing solvent and UV print solutions, which include a 5m GS5000R, two QS 3200, and three Mimaki JV33-160 machines, several of which were added at the beginning of 2015.

“The MTEX 5032 will assist and increase our capability and service offering to both existing and new clients who are attracted by the advantages of our ‘start to finish in-house’ offering,” said Rocket’s commercial director Antony Rider.

The MTEX 5032 is capable of printing on a wide variety of substrates including stretch fabric, voile and fabric mesh. Using water-based inks, it prints print direct onto the textile which advances through an inline fixation unit which sublimates the inks to the fabric.

This latest investment follows a year of significant expansion and development at Rocket, which at the beginning of this year announced its intention to expand its sales force as well as invest in new equipment after a 17% growth in turnover for 2014. Altogether, Rocket has ploughed close to a £1m into the business over the past year.
