Roland appoints new head of sales

Former Paperlinx man Darren Penny has been appointed head of sales for Roland DG UK following Brett Newman’s promotion to managing director.

Penny, previously Paperlinx’s general manager for the South West, said: “I look forward to immersing myself in the creative and innovative environment that Roland DG affords its staff, and relish the chance to establish myself with a market leader. Getting to be involved with the innovative and inspired things Roland DG engages in is a real bonus for me, and allows me to not only have a better understanding of our dealer network through our sales and Academy team but also the end user themselves, and how they perceive Roland DG.”

Newman said of the appointment: “Darren’s wealth of experience and unparalleled perspective on the print industry – as well as his keen attitude – makes him a fantastic addition to our team, and will play a key role in contributing to Roland DG’s bright future.”

In his new role Penny will be responsible not only for Roland DG’s product portfolio alongside the sales team, but also for RolandCare, Creative Centre and Roland DG Academy. Roland DG has also announced details of its new #WithRoland end user competition. Running 14th September - 26th October 2015, the European-wide competition will invite end users to produce and submit a 6 – 60 second video explaining how Roland DG has improved their business. The winner will get trip for two to Japan. There are also five runner-up prizes.
