KEP gets new sales director

After eight years with KEP Print Group Joel Mudie has been made sales director. Now part of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (Lichfield and Tamworth division) and the Made in Britain organisation, KEP also has a new marketing, PR, and social media department to support the sales team.
Mudie joined KEP as a printer in November of 2009 when it acquired his then-employer Renault Print. He was most latterly its business development manager, and hopes his story of shop floor to senior management success will inspire others.   “When I started my life as a printer, I truly believed at that time that I would retire as a printer. I had an easy life. But after a while, ‘easy’ wasn’t enough. I knew I wanted to make more of a difference. I would joke with [then-sales director] Gary [Parker] when he would pass by my press, saying he should take me on to sell. Eventually, we both took the jokes more seriously, and he offered me the chance to move onto the sales team. At that point in my life, I had never sent a single email but they took a huge chance on me. Reflecting on the printer I was when I first entered the workforce, I could have never envisioned myself in this position,” said Mudie.
