Norwegian printer buys SpyderX

Installation is imminent of the SpyderX printer Norwegian-based specialist wide-format and POS printer Oslo Silketrykk bought off the Inca stand at Fespa 2018.
Ahead of that event Inca had announced its intention to preview its fastest-ever wide-format digital printer. The single pass machine, currently in development, can print at up to 300 linear meters per minute at 2.8m wide - a 50m sample was on display at the show, allowing visitors to see the quality the machine can achieve at full speed. The 2.8m wide version will be integrated into a corrugated machine currently being developed with BHS Corrugated. “This machine will launch in a couple of years and we’re already having conversations with customers to understand what functionality they need from a machine with this level of production capacity” said Inca CEO John Mills. “With this kind of speed comes a step-change in capacity for many printers, so we’re working to ensure there’s a business plan that supports this capacity and a real value proposition for this platform.” Fespa 2018 also saw the commercial launch of the Onset M, first previewed at Fespa 2017.
