Onlineprinters reaches 250,000 climate neutral order milestone

German-based Onlineprinters has produced a quarter of a million carbon neutral print orders. "The figure of 250,000 is sensational,” said Michael Fries, CEO of the company, which began carbon neutral production in 2013 and has since offset 7,900 tons of the gas.
“This shows that our customers want to act sustainably and that Onlineprinters promotes environmental protection," Fries went on. “Due to the sheer number of orders, the online printing business model in particular allows printed advertising material to be produced in a resource-saving manner since the machines can be utilised efficiently. But still carbon emissions cannot be eliminated completely. So customers can offset the unavoidable amount of carbon when ordering in the online shop by contributing less than 1% of the purchase price to fund one of several climate protection projects of their choice such as reforestation or the promotion of renewable energies.” The Onlineprinters (which operates under the brand name of diedruckerei.de in Germany) produced more than 2.5bn printed advertising products last year - including large-format - to over 800,000 customers in 30 European countries through 18 webshops.
