Wedding books focus of first Roland metallic inkjet printer installation

Dublin-based Sigma Print and Media has bought the first of Roland's new DG XC-540MT wide-format metallic inkjet printers unveiled at Sign and Digital Ireland. The unit, which can print silver in addition to the regular CMYK and white to create a spectrum of metallic colours, will be used by Sigma to add another dimension to its bespoke wedding and photo book offering.

New additions to Epson's Stylus Pro family

Official launch for Roland's metallic ink

Roland DG (UK) Ltd has launched its innovative SOLJET PRO III XC-540MT wide-format inkjet printer which features, for the first time, a metallic ink capability. Printable either as a special colour or in combination with process options, the company's latest development provides users with the opportunity to create a range of metallic hues, including gold, silver, bronze and pearlescent effects, which were hitherto impossible with this medium.

Durst ups its green commitment with free ink collection and disposal service

To continue its ethos of conforming strictly to RoHS and WEEE directives, Durst is enhancing its green ink policy with a free collection and disposal service for all waste inks from its Rho printers. The company is also simplifying the control of ink stocks and minimising waste by supplying all of its inks in five litre single packs.

New version of eXpress software RIP launched by EFI

EFI has announced the latest version of its eXpress software RIP designed for high quality photography and proofing applications. This fully-featured new product family, designated v 4.1, is compliant with Windows 7 and Macintosh OS 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard) and is designed for both novice and experienced users.

Andesign invests in EFI VUTEk GS3200

Sutton Coldfield based Andesign has invested in an EFI VUTEk GS3200 UV-curable flat-bed and roll-fed printer which was supplied by specialist distributor, CMYUK Digital. The installation of the eight-colour plus white 3.2 m machine is one of the first in the UK and satisfies managing director Andy Williams's need for higher speeds at finer resolutions.

Magnetic products added to DTL offering

DTL Supplies has added a number of items to its consumables portfolio including?several magnetic or magnetic receptive products. Magnetic sheeting is available in 620mm and 1000mm widths in 10m long rolls, suitable for exterior application such as vehicle signage. The company has also added magnetic and magnetic receptive printable polyesters, both of which are solvent and UV printable for interior application.?

Fair-play buys another flatbed

Fair-play in Amsterdam has installed an HP Scitex FB6100 flatbed printer. The UV curable machine, which converts from rigid to roll-fed applications, joins Fair-play's existing range of digital printers, including an HP Scitex XP2700 and an FB7500 bought only this spring.
