A 3D Printshow Education Session on 8 November will provide free access to 3D printing for school and university groups. The programme will give 3,000 students from across the country a hands-on experience with the technology and will award a free 3D printer to each comprehensive school bringing more than 35 students to the event in London. School groups will take these printers back to the classroom, giving students the chance to learn, study and develop their skills using 3D technology.

ESMA (European Speciality Print and Manufacturers Association) and IMI, the inkjet technology conference organiser, will create a functional and decorative industrial print conference programme at InPrint 2014 next spring. The two-day conference will run 8-9 April 2014 at the InPrint Show and will focus on ‘Smart’ screenprinting and digital inkjet within industrial print production.

Colourgen has made three key appointments in its hardware and consumables sales divisions. Justin Steers has been appointed internal sales manager; Tom Owers has been promoted to the newly created position of internal business development manager; and Lucy Ibbott has joined in the role of internal sales and support executive.

After two years as an associate member of Fespa, the Bulgarian Association for Contemporary Graphics and Printing (BACGP) has been granted full membership. This means that the organisation can now vote on issues that will help shape Fespa's future.

Enfocus Switch has announced Connect Send 11 that lets printers streamline and automate file delivery from their customers. It allows printers to give their customers everything they need to submit files without requiring them to remember FTP addresses, website locations or log-on credentials.

New from Roland is the VersaCamm VS-i wide-format print-and-cut series that comprises the 64in VS-640i, the 54in VS-540i, and the 30in VS-300i. The machines, which have print speeds of up to 26.9m2/hr in high production print modes and offer integrated contour cutting, use Eco-Sol Max2 inks available in nine colours (CMYKLcLm, White, Metallic Silver and Light Black). Other notable enhancements include front-loading ink cartridges, and the ability to adjust cut settings during operation.

Neschen has introduced two more widths of its self-adhesive PVC digital print medium solvoprint easy dot 100. The clear and matt versions of the event film are now available in widths of 106.7cm and 155cm. The 137.2cm-width version of the 50m-long rolls is still available.
