Roland brings out metallic inks inkjet printer

Roland is using Sign Ireland at the end of September to show a prototype of the world's first large-format inkjet printer to run metallic inks.
The company is keeping details of the solution under wraps until the show, but it is understood that this printer will accept a new metallic silver ink, which when used in conjunction with existing CMYK ink set can create a whole new range of finishes. Roland has said it will have all the speed and versatility of a high-speed Roland production printer, including integrated print/cut, together with the versatility and profit potential to run metallic ink.

The machine will be on the Sign and Digital Ireland Demo Trail at the RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin, 23 - 24 September. It will also be shown at UK roadshows throughout October.
