Colourgen will give the Kala Automatic X-Y Trimmer – KalaXY - its UK debut at Sign and Digital UK.

The KalaXY can cut substrates up to 1mm thick, including photo paper, vinyl, laminated substrates, light PVC banner and polyester films. It has a maximum roll media diameter of 250mm, an operating speed of up to 18m/min and a cross trimming blade speed of up to 120m/min.

Display Makers has introduced the ISOframe Ripple, an ultra-lightweight, semi-flexible display system that can be flexed into almost any shape. A five-column stand for instance, can be built in five, four, three, two or one panel configurations. There are media screen attachments, spotlights and a case-to-counter add-on to the system.

Innotech Digital and Display has added a monomeric self-adhesive vinyl called FR100 to its range. The FR100 is a 100 micron monomeric calendered vinyl with 140g/m2 liner, suitable for intermediate applications on flat or gently curved surfaces. It is available in white gloss, white matt and clear gloss finishes with permanent clear adhesive.

Xennia’s Cygnus print software, previously supplied only with Xennia digital solutions and module packages, is now being made available to OEM digital printing system builders, including full variable data printing and image path control as well as managing other inkjet printing system components.

MR Clipart is inviting signmakers and car wrappers to take part in a three-day, five-round car wrap competition in Vienna at the new xfair (15 -17 April). All competitors get prize packages. First round packages have a value of around 1,000 Euro while those for finalists exceed € 5,000 Euro plus various hardware. The fee to compete is 50 Euro.

Wide-format kit and systems supplier CMYUK will make its Sign and Digital UK debut this month following the recent opening of its new showroom and demonstration facility.

The IPIA has appointed W2P software company RedTie founder Marian Stefani as interim CEO following the departure of Andrew Pearce who has managed the association for the past eight years.
