Recyclable wide-format Omnijet media from Ilford

Ilford has expanded its Ominjet commercial inkjet media range with a recyclable wide-format Photo Realistic line that has been certified as responsibly sourced in compliance with the requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council. The launch comes as Ilford expands its environment-friendly portfolio with BioMedia, a new range of biodegradable products.

Sustainability initiative to form part of Drupa 2012

A sustainability initiative is planned for Drupa 2012 next May. In cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf, the forum Media Mundo will be bringing ‘Media Mundo @ Drupa’ which will take up about 200m2 of exhibition space and provide live discussions and presentations from experts and industry players on the issue of sustainability.

Ceres Media’s TierraFilm window film is expected to be available in commercial volumes the UK in November following a product refinement that has seen its introduction pushed back from this month. The move was confirmed by Ceres in its financial report for the year ending 31 July 2011.

Mimaki’s JV34-260 large-format inkjet printer has scooped a ‘Best of 2011’ award honouring the most innovative digital printer hardware shown by exhibitors at the recent VIscom show in Dusseldorf, Germany. The JV34-260 won the Large Format Print category, the jury considering it “a real workhorse”.

Call to police the way energy companies treat SMEs

The Forum of Private Business is calling for a code of conduct to police the way utilities companies treat small firms. In particular, it wants a cap on back billing and fairer contracts to prevent them from being rolled-over onto more expensive deals with little or no prior knowledge.

Recycling initiative leads to monster savings

Hollywood Monster and Pyramid Display Materials have joined forces under a new eco-friendly initiative. The Pyramid Recycling Initiative means hundreds of tons of waste, including PVC, acrylic, polypropylene, aluminium composite and polycarbonate, which may otherwise have been sent to landfill, will instead be recycled.

 

Fujifilm announces commercial availability of XMF Print Centre

Fujifilm has announced the commercial availability of its cloud-based web-to-print solution XMF Print Centre. Utilising its expertise in cloud-based printing from within its web-to-print photo business, which last year processed over 5m orders, the company has tailored this solution for the print industry. It aims to help printers extend the print services they offer across both offset and digital production as more business moves online.
