Roll-up for new Satin Crystal

Metamark has added Satin Crystal Roll Up to its digital media portfolio. The new material is a novel, satin finished 170 micron film which the company is making available in 10 and 40 metre lengths at 914mm and 1370mm widths. The material features a brilliant white, print receptive face film and a grey, light-blocking backing. The finished print is curl resistant and ready to be loaded directly into any roll-up stand without laminating or any further finishing treatmen

SCIA sees benefits of HP Scitex LX800

French company SCIA is winning new work as a direct result of installing a 3.2m HP Scitex LX800 latex printer which the company bought for its production and environmental benefits. "We found that printers using solvent-based inks create an uncomfortable working environment," said Laetitia Lelandais, partner, SCIA. "Rather than investing in extractor equipment, we decided to purchase the LX800, since not only do the HP latex inks it uses require no ventilation, but the ability to print odourless large-format applications opened an entire new range of business opportunities for SCIA.

Mutoh introduces Zephyr Ts

Mutoh is introducing a compact 65in (165cm) wide roll-to-roll digital UV inkjet printer for the production of road traffic signs, safety and information signs. Called the Zephyr TS, the machine will print directly onto retro-reflective sheeting, using specially formulated UV inks. ?The combination of printer, UV inks, retro-reflective sheeting and UV protection overlay film fulfills the European standard for fixed vertical road traffic signs (EN 12899-1:2007)

Agfa extends UV wide-format with LED offering?

On display for the first time at Fespa 2010 will be the Agfa Anapurna 2500LED which introduces LED curing technology on a UV-curable 2.5m flatbed and roll-fed platform. "The launch of our 2500LED printer will see the start of a revolution in the wide-format printing sector as users look to reduce their running costs and maintain high quality output on all types of media," said Willy Van Dromme, business line manager for wide-format inkjet at Agfa Graphics. "The incorporation of LED UV-curable technology in the Anapurna 2500LED offers greater flexibility on more materials and substantially lower energy costs."

64in vinyl cutter from Roland?

The new Camm-1 Pro Series GX-640 64in vinyl cutter is Roland's largest and most advanced cutter which it claims will set a new standard for performance and precision across media ranging from vinyl and polyester to Mylar, polyurethane, sand blast, twill and flock. The GX-640 uses a new generation of servo motor technology and powerful integrated design and output software for both standalone cutting and print-then-cut workflows.

MediaCo produces massive photomural to commemorate 100 years at Old Trafford

The advent of Old Trafford's hundredth year as Manchester United's home was recently commemorated with the application of a spectacular photomural as part of year-long celebrations. The 40 x 14m mural was printed and applied by MediaCo, which used Metamark Clear Vision material supplied by grand-format media specialist Vuflex.

This 2.05m wide UV-curable printer offers six-colour and white ink printing and uses the company's latest M-series G2 inks, which are designed for applications on the latest rigid and roll materials that demand more flexibility.

INX Digital gets innovative at Fespa 2010

INX Digital will be launching AXM, a new solvent ink product developed for the European superwide market, at Fespa 2010. AXM, a Triangle brand and approved for use in many superwide printers utilising Spectra, Xaar 128 and Xaar 500 printheads, is expected to appeal to printers for its scratch resistance and is UV resistant for up to three years outdoors. Manufactured in Prague to ISO 9001 standards, it dries extremely fast on multiple substrates. AXM will be available in six colours and sold in five litre packs.?

Innova Art extends new business options

From Innova Art comes D?cor Art ES (eco solvent) paper. The company said the new 260gsm media is compatible with all eco-solvent inkjet machines and is acid and lignin free. The paper, which has the textured feel of an art paper, with a bright white tone and semi-gloss finish, is available in widths of 30, 54 and 60in on 3in cores?
